Every single business on this planet has been touched by the Covid-19 pandemic – mostly in a bad way. The shut-downs and social distancing has made a lot of business have to pivot with their plans. Its not business as usual anymore, business owners need to get creative.
What I do see is a window to the future. If this pandemic showed us anything, its that business can still be operated remotely for the most part, and they need to be able to expand their reach from their typical brick and mortar footprint. If you thought you were behind in terms of tech and social media before 2020, you’re even worse off now.
What we’re seeing today is businesses that are adopting technology and social media marketing at a large rate are recovering from the pandemic fallout more quickly. The restaurant industry, for example, was on a path to be more digital and delivery-friendly in another 2-3 years, but the pandemic has now forced it upon them. The same goes for retail and a number of other industries. Don’t even get me started on the cinema industry.
So if you were thinking about kicking your social media up a notch before 2020 and have yet to do it? Well, what are you waiting for. Do it! You’re falling behind and your competitors aren’t taking any breaks. Put your business out there. Create content. Get digital. Adopt the tech that’s streamlining your industry.
By the end of 2021, the standards of 2025 will already be mainstream.
